Matter Paneer

This is restaurant style gravy, I like these types of gravies they look rich and taste so good. Long time back found one recipe and with few changes, I stick to this and it’s always a big hit. It’s even easy and takes very less time and will be rich for party.

Ingredients:

Peas
½ cup
Paneer (sallow fried)
1 cup
Onion chopped
1 cup
Tomato paste
2 Tbsp
Ginger garlic paste
1 Tbsp
Green chili
1-2
Cumin seeds
1 tsp
Coriander powder
1 Tbsp
Chili powder
1 tsp
Turmeric powder
½ tsp
Kasuri meti (dry fenugreek leaves)
½ Tbsp
Asafetida
a pinch
Cilantro
few
Evaporated milk
2 Tbsp
Salt

Oil

Directions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan add asafetida and cumin seeds then add onion and green chili.
  2. Once the onion turns golden brown add tomato paste and few water sauté for few minutes.
  3. Now add turmeric, chili and coriander powder sprinkle little water cook until raw smell goes.
  4. Now add peas and salt wait until peas cook, add kasuri meti and check for salt and consistency. In this stage the oil starts to ooze.
  5. Finally add evaporated milk and paneer, allow it to boil once, switch off the stove. Garnish with cilantro and serve with roti and paratha.
Note: Instead of tomato paste you can use tomato pure. You can add fresh cream instead of evaporated milk.
