Oven Pancake

Oven pancake is German style pancake, made with simple ingredients milk, butter and flour. It’s a nice filling breakfast, perfect for Sunday morning. Just blend and bake in oven, in few minutes nice puffy pancakes are ready can be served with lot of fruits. Found this recipe in a magazine, tried this for first time last Sunday and it’s a hit.

Ingredients:

All purpose flour
½ cup
Butter
2 Tbsp
Egg
2
Milk
½ cup
Orange zest
1 tsp
Vanilla extract
½ tsp
Sugar
3 Tbsp
Banana chopped
¼ cup
Strawberries
¼ cup
Orange (optional)
few
Powdered sugar
2 Tbsp

Directions:

  1. Divide butter into two 16oz oven safe cups, melt the butter in 400º preheated oven.
  2. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, orange zest and vanilla. Whisk in the flour and sugar until blend. Pour over melted butter and bake for 14- 16 minutes or until golden brown and puffy.
  3. Once it’s ready dust with powdered sugar, add fruits and enjoy.
Notes:
  • In the original recipe there is no sugar added.
  • Only fresh fruits go good with this, I had only strawberries and banana that time. You can add other berries. For this recipe you might need 1 cup of mixed berry fruits.
  • This yields for two.
